Hockey - Harvey 5 KLHT 2

It was either team’s game when Porter Williams took a Greg Hennings (1 Assist) breakout pass wide with speed early in the third period. Williams cut to the left side of the ice in the offensive zone, while Edelstein cut behind him. Taking charge, Williams released a quick shot back to the right side of the net. Score! Williams finished the game with 4 points (1 Goal, 3 Assists).

Aware that KLHT is comfortable fighting back from a deficit, Harvey tried their best to dictate the flow of the game and maintain their competitive edge for the entire 45 minutes. Though there were a few too many Harvey penalties in the second and third periods, and KLHT capitalized on one of their power plays in the third period to make the game 4-2, Williams steadily led the Cavaliers to a victory. In the first period Williams assisted on one of Edelstein’s 3 goals, and in the second period he assisted on a magnificent Ricky Schulman (1 Goal, 1 Assist) short-handed goal.

Jason O’Brien saved 39 of 41 shots, making it look easy most of the time. O’Brien played aggressive between the pipes, challenging shooters and handling the puck when necessary.

Testimonial of a Parent: My goal was to meet other parents and if I learned anything from the course that would be great too. What I discovered from this “best kept” secret of a program was that applying the kind of parenting skills I learned elicited cooperative behaviors from my child. Our relationship went from one of a power struggle to one of mutual loving respect and partnership.

Hockey - Harvey 4 Somers 3

At home on Tuesday, December 11, Harvey Hockey defeated Somers 4 - 3. The two teams were playing for local bragging rights, and the efforts on the ice made for a fast-paced, back-and-forth game. Ultimately, Somers out shot Harvey, peppering goalie Jason O’Brien with 40 shots, and many of them were from the prime shooting area. While O’Brien let in one breakaway, he turned aside a number of odd-man rushes at critical moments of the game. O’Brien was focused, handling the puck well and settling down the Cavaliers.
