The Varsity Girls’ Basketball team had a great game against Upton Lakes Christian Academy on January 25, winning by a score of 48-23. Everybody that played scored in the game, led by Julie Sauro with 12, Dana Lombardi with 10, and Noelle McKoy with 8. In addition, Rachel Mendelsohn had 6 points, Kayla Mogrovejo had 4, and Gabby Bertone, Carly Glenn, Alex Minicucci, and Allison Hodson had 2 each.
The Harvey School’s JV basketball team ran into a tall, athletic and very well coached Chase Collegiate squad on January 26th. Despite a lot of effort and hustle, the team was over matched and fell 66-28. Harvey was led in scoring for the first time this year by Carlo Civita, who hit two 3s and ended up with 8 points. David Judisky also hit two 3s and scored 6 points. Adam Slater and Aaron Haight both scored three points. John McDermott, Dan Stone and Christian Wilcox also scored in the game.
On January 23 the Cavaliers were victorious over visiting Marvelwood 59-57, rising to 6-4 on the season. During a strong first half led by the offensive prowess of Jon Jackson, Connor Welles, and Joe Lombardi, the boys earned a lead of 34-29. During the second half, Marvelwood fought their way back despite strong Cavalier defensive performances by Andrew Hernandez and Wolfie Lovell. With less than a second left in the game, Phil Porter hit a long jumper breaking the 57-57 tie and securing the win. Scoring leaders were Jon Jackson (11), Matt Bowser (10) and Andrew Hernandez (8).
The Varsity Girls’ Basketball team defeated the Forman School 38-27 on January 23. Noelle McKoy led a strong team effort with 16 points. Also scoring were Julie Sauro with 7, Dana Lombardi with 4, Alex Minicucci with 3, and Lydia Williams, Carly Glenn, Rachel Mendelsohn, and Kayla Mogrovejo with 2 each. Also contributing with strong defense were Gabby Bertone, Allison Hodson, Joanna Smith, Hannah Sawyer, and Clara Lefton.
Philip C. Bowers of Bedford Hills (NY) and Philip L. Fitting of Wilton (CT) have joined the Board of Trustees of The Harvey School.

Both men bring a wealth of experience to their positions, having worked in the investment field for many years. The trustees were selected by the Trustee Committee, which investigates and nominates new members to the Board. (more…)
