On Friday afternoon, in front of a packed house at the Evarts Rink the Harvey Cavaliers took on local rival John Jay. The Cavaliers may have been a little over-amped as they took 7 penalties in the first period leading to three power play tallies, and trailed 3-0 at the end of the first period. In the second period Harvey found their game, began to move the puck and created offense, however the Cavs were left vulnerable in their own end too. The teams each scored 4 goals and Jay lead 7-4 at the end of two periods. Despite their efforts in the third period the varsity was unable to close the gap and fell 8-5. Harvey was lead by Sean O’Brien who had a hat trick and an assist. Justin Edelstein added two goals and an assist. Jason O’Brien stopped 47 of 55 shots that faced, as Harvey fell to 1-1 overall.
