Volleyball - Harvey 3 Storm King 1

The varsity volleyball team won a dramatic first victory ever during their home opener against Storm King. Harvey won the first game by a large margin, lost the second game by a large margin, and then won the last two games by nail-biting margins. Last year, Storm King shut out Harvey during their inaugural season. The Harvey girls made it clear why they have been practicing.

Senior captains Chelsea Gifford and Allison Zakre led Harvey with exceptional serves and intensity at the net. Fellow seniors Brittany Fleiss and Stephanie Rodrigues were anchors for the team, settling down the ball and maintaining their composure. Juniors Julie Sauro and Chrissy Casbaro controlled the game in the setter position while also contributing key serves. Alisa Langer, Sophia Plotkin, and Rachel Dimowitz also rotated into the line-up.

Storm King put up a good fight, coming back from a 28-20 Harvey lead in the fourth game to make it 30 - 29 for Storm King. Stephanie Rodrigues in the serving position propelled Harvey to a 32-30 win to clinch the victory.
