Harvey has won the HVAL (Hudson Valley Athletic League) Championship. They defeated PDS on another rainy and windy day. The girls had a rough start but gained focus during the third inning. The entire team had a great time and was impressed by the overwhelming support of the faculty and parents.

The team had great base running which helped secure the win. Lauren Judisky and Kayla Mogrovejo lead the team with five stolen bases each. Leydi Lundeen-Goldschlag and Rachel Camoia both had three stolen bases while Ali Walkup, Kate Urbach and Erika Osborne had two. Lauren Aiello, Emmy Kaufman and Sarah Hodson each had one stolen base. Lauren Judisky could not be stopped with the amount of runs she brought in. She led the team with six RBI’s. Three of the runs came in on one hit. Emmy had two RBI’s with Ali and Kayla each getting one RBI. Ali had a great hit in the fourth inning right down the base line into right field to bring in a run.

While in the field, Harvey had another solid game. Lauren Judisky had a double play during the fifth inning to hold the PDS team from advancing and ending the inning. Sarah Hodson pitched two strike-outs during the last two innings. Rachel Camoia was responsible for getting seven outs during the game. Ali did not let the ball go by her in the outfield while she slid around in the wet grass. The team looked good and held tight.

We will miss the seniors, Lauren Judisky, Ali Walkup, Rachel Camoia, Leydi Lundeen-Goldschlag, Abigail Hunt and Miranda Larsen. Thanks for a great season. We will start all over again next spring.
