Middle School Plans Trips
The Harvey Middle School has finalized the details for this year’s spring trips. Each grade in the Middle School will take a different trip, which will provide the optimal experience. By having each grade take a separate trip, there is more opportunity to focus on curriculum relevant to the particular grade.
The 6th grade will spend the day in Albany, New York. The students will leave the Harvey campus Thursday, May 8, at 8:00 AM and return that same day at 8:00 PM. Students and the chaperones will visit the New York State Museum, take a tour of the New York State Capital, visit the Empire State Plaza Underground and see the show “Voyage to Albany.” Students will also have the opportunity to experience Albany from the famous Aqua Duck tour. Please note, backpacks and large bags are not allowed in Capitol Buildings. There are metal detectors in the buildings, and all metal will be confiscated.
The 7th grade students will also take a day trip on Thursday, May 8th. The students will leave the Harvey campus at10: 30 AM. and return back to Harvey at 7:00 PM. The first stop on this day into New York City will be to Yankee Stadium to watch the Yankees play the Cleveland Indians; game time is 1:05 p.m. After the game, the 7th graders will visit Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum located in Times Square.
The 8th grade class will start their trip on Thursday, May 8th at 8:00 a.m. for a two-day, one-night trip to Historic Philadelphia. Day One includes a visit to The Franklin Institute, a climb of the “Rocky Steps”, a walking tour of the historic area (Independence Hall, Congress Hall, Liberty Bell, etc…), and a Duck Boat tour of the city. After an exciting day of touring, students will return to the hotel for an ice cream bar and pool time. The 8th grade students will rise early on Friday, May 9th for a day of fun at Great Adventures . Students will return to the Harvey campus that evening at 6:00 PM.

We are looking forward to taking the 8th graders to Philly! FUN! FUN! FUN!
